Message from the Chairman

armand Dear Colleagues,

I am glad to be involved with the Inland Branch again after an absence of 5 years. From our first meeting it was clear that the Inland Branch has come a long way since those days, and that as a committee the passion for concrete is very evident. The focus shift have been phenomenal under the leadership of John Sheath (now our new National President) and this will certainly make my job a lot easier.

With regards to the upcoming events the “Concrete Egg Protection Device competition” will be held early May, and the response from Universities is very positive and thus it should be a great success. On May 20th we are holding a mini-seminar (half-day) on architectural concrete which will raise different issues on concrete than the traditional enginering based focus. Watch out for the notices and please support us for this unique event.

2. Members are requested to advise the Branch of any construction project currently being undertaken that they would like to visit to view the design and usage of concrete. We will arrange a site visit subject to a positive response from the client/contractor involved.
