The Inland Branch recently held a special presentation featuring Prof. David Fowler from the University of Texas, USA and attended by more than 60 members and their guests.

The "Big Dig" was a $14 billion highway construction project in Boston that included several tunnels. There was a massive cost overrun and time delay.  Epoxy anchors were used extensively to hold concrete ceiling panels. Some of the anchors failed, resulting in the death of an automobile passenger and a massive follow up investigation.

Delegates present heard of the many lessons learned related to ethics, communications, and engineering.
