Oostenberg Refuse Transfer Station Site Visit

On Thursday 22nd April 2010 members of the Western Cape branch attended a site visit hosted by Haw & Inglis at the construction site of the Oostenberg Refuse Transfer Station (ORTS). The facility is the latest development of the City of Cape Town's solid waste handling infrastructure programme.

The visitors were allowed to take a look at the entire site and were also briefed on some of the facets which governed the layout and design of the main structure, outbuildings and material handling areas.
