WESTERN CAPE BRANCH CONCRETE CUBE COMPETITITON
REPORT BACK
|
The annual concrete cube competition for 2010 was held recently at Stellenbosch University. This year the aim was to achieve the highest possible ratio of cube strength divided by the weight squared.
AfriSam sponsored the food and drinks for the prize giving. The sponsor showed great enthusiasm at all times for the event. Participation is traditionally aimed predominantly at students currently covering material sciences. This year students of all academic years attended the prize giving and the opportunity was taken to promote the event to potential future participants. All arrangements ran smoothly and the foundation was set for future events to grow in stature and awareness.
