ANNUAL BOAT RACE COMPETITION AND RACE DAY - 2011

Friday 16th September 2011 10h00 – Delivery of boats and erecting of marquees Saturday 17th September 2011 08h00 - Registration of student boats for race 14h00 - Final Races Alcohol & soft drinks: In terms of the Liquor License Act, all drinks must be organised and supplied through the Victoria Lake Club. Marquees MUST be erected on Friday 16th September 2011 along with the delivery of tables, chairs and boats. The stands will be marked out and numbered by 10h00 on Friday morning. You need JavaScript enabled to view it NOTE: Advertising at the venue is reserved for the companies that have sites. Boat/Student sponsors can only advertise on the boats. Safety: In the interests of safety please ensure that all participants wear life jackets at all times whilst on the water. Rescue boats, lifesavers and course marker buoys will be provided by the Victoria Lake Club and canoe racing section. Boats should remain buoyant in the event of a capsize, i.e. some natural buoyancy should be built into the craft. Boats without sufficient buoyancy will note be allowed to race on the day. All entries received will automatically be included in the race schedule for the day. Late entries and entries on the day will only be eligible for the race events. A boat number will be allocated to all boats participating in the races by Friday 9th September 2011. The number needs to be painted on top of the boat, so that it may be visible from the shore. A committee member will contact the team leader via email to confirm the number, which is to be taken as confirmation of your registration.
Entry Fees: Boat entries are reserved for students and sponsor companies, all other entries to pay a fee of R150 per boat.

The Inland Branch will, once again, be hosting the celebrated Annual Concrete Boat Competition. This occasion is intended to bring together members from various disciplines that constitute the Concrete Society, as well as students from the various tertiary education institutions' built environment departments.
