Inland Branch: ‘Creative Concrete’ Seminar
This popular seminar went off extremely well with more than 30 members and non-members attending the event, which was held at the Centurion Country Club in Gauteng.
The talks and demonstrations were very interesting and informative. There was a lot of active participation from the delegates, many questions were asked, with quality answers shared by the speakers and even some of the delegates, who comprised architects, engineers, readymix, contractors, consultants, pre-casters, buyers and suppliers. Jaco du Plessis from Go-Consult was the lead for the event.
Gerrie Pretorius and Bertus Voster from SIKA delivered a presentation on basic concrete principles, protecting and curing concrete on site. JJ Strydom from Lambson’s Hire spoke on concrete surface preparation and decorative finishes. Lastly, Victor Bouguenon from the newly formed company, CemteQ , delivered a presentation on light-weight concrete screeds and plasters.
Lambson’s Hire provide demonstrations on polishing concrete and different finishes that can be achieved with their equipment. The delegates engaged well during the presentation and informative discussions was led JJ Strydom and Warren Trew from Chryso.
Many thanks to Chryso who were the event sponsor and used the opportunity well to market the Concrete Society and their involvement in the Society to their customers. Thanks also to Lambson’s Hire, PMSA and Cemteq who took the opportunity to host exhibition tables.
