UKZN Civil Engineering Prize giving 2014
The UKZN Civil Engineering Prize giving for 2014 was held on the 8 April 2014, in the Civil Engineering building at 6 pm.
Professor Phillip Everitt welcomed everyone to the event and gave a short resume of events in Civil Engineering in the KZN region.
The event was well attended by students, parents, sponsors and staff. In 2013 there were 67 undergraduates of whom 4 graduated Cum Laude, and there were 6 Post Graduate students.
Josiah Padayachee (UKZN Class of 2000) was the guest speaker. Josiah gave an inspiring presentation to the students and finished off with the words: “Be the difference”.
The presentation of the various awards was then made, with the CSSA Bill King Memorial Prize for a meritorious design involving concrete going to Kyle Llewllen Raman, the certificate and award was presented by the CSSA KZN Chair, Theresa du Plessis.
The evening was then concluded with thanks given to the students, to Ooma who made all the arrangements and to all other attendees.
